Guide Hachette des Vins 2012

Guide Hachette des Vins 2012
    Alsace Grand cru BRAND
extrait_180...Deep yellow with golden glints, this wine mingles overripe fruit aromas, vanilla, honey and candied bergamot. Mirabelle plum jam is added to this range of aromas in the round, smooth, rich and lingering mouth.  A pleasant sweet wine, that will be opened for Christmas, as an aperitif or for the dessert with Alsatian ginger bread for example.

      Alsace Muscat
comm1_180... They sign a cuvée with an appealing hue, pale yellow, brilliant and limpid. Already intense in the nose, fruity and balanced, it is a typical muscat, to be served as an aperitif or with asparagus.
       Alsace grand cru Hengst
comm2_180...This one has an intense golden yellow color. The nose is also intense, with rose aromas. In the mouth, the floral nuances are still present, with over maturation's candied notes added (yellow fruits). As round as you could wish, with a nice fresh finish, this dessert wine can be enjoyed from now.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
comm_1_2010_180...Golden yellow and limpid, this 2007 exudes discreet notes of candied fruits and dried apricots which foretell a good richness.  Yellow fruits and honey mingle in the palate: supple in the attack, ample and fat, pleasantly fresh in the finish. It will fit duck breasts or "pressé de caille au foie gras".
       Crémant d'Alsace
comm_2_2010_180 ... They have blended auxerrois (55%), riesling (35%) and pinot blanc to elaborate this straw yellow wine brightened by a steady raw of thin bubbles. The nose is fine and mingles light notes of fruits and butter. The mouth is fat, with exotic fruits, a nice freshness and a lingering finish.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire180 ...Here the Brand gives birth to a golden yellow wine, with first an overripe fruit nose, then mineral. The rich, powerful and persistant body is full of overripe fruit. Supple rather than vivid, this wine will not stay a long time in your cellar.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire  ...Deep yellow with old golden
tints, this 2004 is marked by
over-maturity, in the mouth
like on the nose : it displays
quince, fruit jelly and on the
palate, candied fruits and
honey. If this wine is not the
longest, it stands out from
the attack
with its strength,
richness and opulence.

      Alsace Pinot Noir
 commentaire-1-180

 ... Pinot Noir les Terrasses
comes from a chalky-clayed
soil. Its ruby hue with
orange tints shows already
some maturity. On the nose,
dried fruits and slightly
woody notes mingle. It is
ample and powerful in the
mouth.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire-2-180 ... Straw yellow hue, this
wine displays a fine fruit
with hints of overmaturity,
and a smoky note in the
mouth. A powerful and
balanced wine.

      Alsace Gewurztraminer
 commentaire-1-180 ... proposes a gewurztraminer
born from the light soils of
alluvium brought by the Fecht,
one of the Vosges rivers
tributary on the Ill. Very rich in
pebbles, they are quite
permeable. Yellow with golden
hints, this wine gives intense
fragrances of rose with candied
mirabelle notes. Powerful, full
bodied, well balanced despite
its high content of residual
sugar, it is redolent of rose
until its delicate finish. To be
waited a bit.
      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire-2-180 ... grows vineyards in three
Grand Crus and especially in
the Brand of Turckheim that
has given this golden yellow
Riesling. Its expressive and
elegant nose mingles ripe fruit
and floral notes slightly
musky. Remarkably ample and
generous, it is a harmonious
and long wine which will please
connoisseurs. It will accompany
fishes and poultry in sauce.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire-180 ... Despite its granite origin,
there is a still too young
Riesling, closed on the nose.
Its fruity flavours harmonize
with the supple but crisp
character that reveals in the
mouth. This wine needs a
little time to open out.

      Alsace Grand Cru HENGST
commentaire-180  ... The pale yellow hue of
this Gewurztraminer is
supported by greenish lights.
Wild rose, dried apricot and
violet are dominant in the
nose. The mouth, full bodied
and structured, benefits from
the quality of the grapes.
This young wine, quite fresh,
needs to be kept 4 or 5 years.

      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
commentaire-180 ... Straw yellow to golden
hue, intense and overripe
fruit, accented by honey
notes, powerful palate, racy,
balanced, finishing on a good
backing acidity. This is a
wine whose winemaking has
been good controlled and
that can be enjoyed for
itself, without accom-
paniment.

      Alsace Pinot Noir
commentaire-1-180 ... Pinot Noir Les Terrasses
is a true red wine whose
deep purple hue surprises.
On the nose, the fruit
mingles in fine wooden
notes. A great structure
reveals in the mouth where
the vanilla flavours persist
in the finish. A wine to be
waited 2 or 3 years before
being served with red meat
or game.
      Alsace Grand Cru BRAND
 commentaire-2-180
commentaire-3-180
 ... the nose, first discreet,
opens on whites flowers
aromas and light iodised
accents. A fresh attack,
without excess of vivacity,
the mouth is really harmo-
nious. A great Riesling.
