	*This wine unfolds candied fruits notes. The rich and ample mouth is marked by its sweetness, but well balanced by a good acidity.*

Gewurztraminer 2005 Sélection de Grains Nobles
	The nose is reminiscent of camphor and menthol. The mouth offers freshness, a dense but mild fruit. The sugar is well managed and the body is ample and enjoyable. Good balance and length. Beyond question, a success!

The nose is subtle, with citronella, ginger, and wild berries notes. The mouth shows a good fullness but the final still lacks a bit of pep. Be patient the definitive balance is not reached.

The style is spicy (spices and white pepper) and the fruit enjoyable. The harmonious mouth is quite spherical for this type of terroir. Freshness and persistence.

The wines : Not a lot of new wines shown this year . Like last year, the best wine is the riesling grand cru Brand 2004. Joining maturity, freshness as well as strength and firmness, the mouth is classic in style. The 2004 riesling grand cru Sommerberg is closed, on the austere side flavorwise ; this lacks a hint of finesse and precision. The gewurztraminer grand cru Hengst VT 2004 charms us with its identity, a nice concentration in spices, no heaviness and a gathered mouth. From the 2005 vintage, only the classic cuvees have been submitted : pinot blanc and sylvaner have simple expressions. Only the pinot gris Réserve Personnelle shows an accomplished character of maturity and harmony.

July 2007 : Gewurztraminers : De la race des grands - "Great racy Gewurztraminers"

Very expressive nose. Ample mouth with nice generous and fleshy matter. The wine is quite bold, dense and typical.

The estate exists since the
17^th century, but Paul
BUECHER really created it
when he started to bottle his
wines from the fifties.
Today, the property is run
by his sons Henri and Jean-
Marc and the next gene-
ration appears with Jérôme.
Well established on the
Grand Cru Hengst and Brand,
this large estate is making
distinct progress, with more
balanced wines.
The wines : in 2004, as
usually, the Riesling Brand is
a reference with a clean and
defined fruit. With good
constructions, the Gewurz-
traminer are the great
successes : the straight
Réserve Personnelle, the
racy Hengst and the
Vendanges Tardives of
superb matter.

July 2003 : A la recherche des grands rouges d'Alsace - "Looking for the great Alsace reds"

The chalky-clayed
soils and the
mildness brought
by the nearness
of Colmar give a
slightly coloured
wine, very opened
fragrances of
strawberry, coffee,
with the spicy
notes of the wood.
The mouth is
supple, the tannins
are without hard-
ness. It is a very
harmonious wine.

A quite coloured
wine of a simple
and woody nose
with smoked
nuances. Classic of
an Alsatian style
Pinot Noir that
seduces by its
tender side almost
soft (despite a
good acidity) and
its fruit stones
flavours that
continue for a
long time.

      Golden lights, honeyed nose
      revealing beautiful ripe
      grapes. Nice bitterness in
      the finish.
