The vines are weeping !

Spring has finaly arrived! The fine days of early April certainly announce the end that long winter season. Easter brings us regularly the last snow of the year; luckily not this time!

A look in our gardens and hillside shows that the vegetation was just waiting for a little sun and warmth to start again.

Since mid-March you can observe small drips glittering at the end of the canes. This flow of sap through the pruning wounds is the first sign of the revival of the plant. It is called the bleeding of the vine. At the end of the winter, under the effect of the warming up of the soil, the roots awake and drive sap into the aerial parts of the plant.

The winter works are now achieved and the vines are ready for a new season. We begin the first spring ploughings while waiting for the budburst.
